Every year on President's Day weekend, Dixie State University hosts it's prestigious Robert N. and Peggy Sears Dixie Invitational Art Show & Sale. The university proudly showcases over 100 artists from all over the West and more than 200 traditional, contemporary, and sculptural pieces of artwork.

The art show was founded by Robert N. Sears, who passed away in May 1995. Sears, a retired vice president of Phillips Petroleum, worked tirelessly to establish a quality art invitational at the University which has become one of the most popular, well-attended exhibits in the state of Utah.

This year the show and gala will be held February 19, 2019.

For the 14th consecutive year, Karl participated in the Zions Bank Art Show held every November in downtown Salt Lake City. The event is a fabulous production, with over 70 incredible artists showing their works on almost every floor. Local florists and chefs are there providing food, and musicians make the environment lively and fun.

This year, Karl was on the 18th floor with some of his favorite artists and friends such as, Valoy Eaton, Michael Coleman, Steve Songer, Kathy Peterson, Ken Baxter, Jon Collins, Kimball Warren, and Frank Huff.

Several of Karl’s works sold to private collectors, and bank president, Scott Anderson, purchased two for the bank’s extensive collection.
